Our Embassy hosted a reception to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Laos and Hungary in Vientiane on 7 December 2017. After more than five decades of cooperation our bilateral relations are more dynamic than ever. H. E. Mr. Lien Thikeo, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and H. E. Mr. Sengphet Houngboungnuang, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs joined Ambassador Péter Jakab on the stage to raise their glasses for a toast to celebrate the friendship of our nations. The President and members of the Lao-Hungarian Friendship Association, former Lao students of Hungarian universities out of the more than 300 alumni who graduated in our country as well as the growing local Hungarian community also attended the event. Vientiane Times and Vientiane Mai newspapers published articles and the National Television and Radio broadcasted reports about our commemorative celebration.
