Along with seven other embassies in Bangkok, the Embassy of Hungary has offered a hand-painted Christmas ball with traditional motifs to Central Embassy’s wonderful interactive Christmas decoration called 'The Lapland Fairground' .

The ball is painted in red, white, and green - the national colors of Hungary. The flowers represent the traditional Hungarian folk art, the particular pattern on the ball is from the Matyó region in the Northeastern part of Hungary, which is famous of its embroidery. The rose in the middle symbolizes fertility and soul, the seed of the rose represents the beginning of life and yellow is the color of summer and the Sun. Red, which occupies the most part of the pattern, represents youth, happiness and enthusiasm. With this flower and the phrase “Merry Christmas” in Thai we would like to wish love and happiness to all the Thai people.
