Mr. Peter Jakab, Ambassador of Hungary, and his Visegrad Four counterparts gave lectures at „Visegrad Open Day – Diversity in Unity: Central Europe’s Past and Present”, an event organized by Chulalongkorn University on 14 May 2015. The lectures were followed by a panel discussion during which the audience had the opportunity to ask questions from the representatives of the Visegrad Four countries and look at a poster exhibition on various aspects of Hungary, including, among others, history, art, science, and folklore.
At the opening ceremony, Chulalongkorn University Vice President Kalaya Tingsabadh announced the foundation of the Center for Central European Studies at the university, adding that a research fund of THB 60.000 available for a for 6 months period has already been established for Thai students wishing to carry out research on Central Europe. Newly appointed director of the Center, Verita Sriratana discussed the future events organized by the Center, including the much-awaited Hungarian Week planned for 2016.
