On 8th of February 2019 Ambassador Szilveszter Bus visited His Excellency Chatchai Sarikulya, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand also responsible for Thailand’s water management policy by overseeing the Office of Natural Water Resources.

At the meeting the parties reviewed the political and commercial aspects of the two countries’ bilateral relations. Ambassador Szilveszter Bus accentuated Hungary’s progressive role in water diplomacy and water technology. Hungary’s active global engagement in water diplomacy is well reflected by the fact that building upon the success of the Budapest Water Summits of 2013 and 2016 Budapest will host the international water conference in 2019 again  under the patronage of H.E. János Áder, President of Hungary.

The Ambassador also elaborated on Hungary’s economic success, the outstanding economic growth and low level of unemployment. He mentioned that Hungary has reached a remarkable position (7th place) in the ranking of the world’s best investment destinations. Hungary is also a country of great business climate with one-digit corporate tax rate. On 14th and 15th of February Deputy Prime Minister Chatchai Sarikulya conducted high level political and professional talks in Budapest.
