Hungarian-Thai relations ever closer, signing of the Extradition Treaty
After yet another successful bilateral ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Parties signed the Extradition Tretary between Hungary and the Kingdom of Thailand on 26 September, 2018.
On behalf of the Government of Hungary, H.E. Mr. Péter Szijjártó Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and on behalf of the Thai Party H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs signed the international agreement.

The Agreement between Hungary and the Kingdom of Thailand on the Functioning of the Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in Hungary in Cooperation with the Dharma Gate Buddhist College was signed by the Parties on 14 June 2018.
On behalf of Hungary H.E. Péter Jakab, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Kingdom of Thailand, and on behalf of the Kingdom of Thailand Mr. Suphat Champatong, Secretary-General of the Office of the Higher Education Commission of the Ministry of Education signed the Agreement.
Dr Lajos Bognár, chief veterinary officer of Hungary attended a Seminar in Bangkok on the Control of Animal Disease
The European Commission and the Department of Livestock Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives co-organized an international seminar on Control of Animal Diseases - Regionalisation on the 5th of June 2018 in Bangkok.
Senior officials of the relevant Thai authorities and representatives of the European Commission, EU Member States, industrial representatives, academia and other stakeholders participated in the seminar.
Central European classical music in Bangkok – a Visegrad Four concert organized by the Hungarian Presidency
Hungarian pianist Ms. Anna Granik performed a piano recital on 3 June 2018 in Bangkok under the auspices of the 2017-2018 Hungarian V4 Presidency, organized by the Embassy of Hungary.
On behalf of the V4 Presidency Ambassador Péter Jakab opened the event, emphasizing the importance of the common roots, traditions and heritage of Central European culture that connects our peoples, followed by a performance of Ms. Granik, who delivered classical Hungarian, Slovakian, Czech, and Polish tunes to the audience.
Second Hungarian Movie Screening at TK Park in Bangkok
The Embassy proudly presented the award-winning Hungarian movie ’Kincsem – Bet for Revenge’ on 19 May in Bangkok, at Thailand Knowledge Park as part of the Contemporary World Film Series, followed by a cocktail reception with Hungarian wine and delicacies.
H.E. Mr. Péter Jakab, Ambassador of Hungary opened the event, speaking of the great successes of Hungarian filmmaking in recent years, and placing the plot of the movie in a historical context, followed by international cinematography expert Ms. Lekha Shankar introducing the film.
